Everyday Life with a Toddler

Before I had kids, I used to get a kick out of the silly things that come out of their mouths once they start to talk and make sense. I could never understand why the moms weren't dying laughing at everything they said. Now I realize, we are too busy cleaning up after or trying to avoid the next disaster  Here are a few things that has come out of Luke’s mouth of late:

1) Our 60 year old neighbor, John, spends a fair amount of time outside in his yard. We always say HI when passing by. Luke’s new thing is during random times of the day will say “Mommy, where is John at?” I always have to reply, “He is in his house right now honey”. That satisfies him and he walks away.

2) Anne Westrich came down for a visit with her dog Murray on Sunday on her way home from Newport. Murray stayed outside and the whole visit was pretty uneventful as she was only here for a short time. Four or so days goes by with no mention of the visit until we are in the car on Thursday and Luke says to me, “Mommy, where did Anne’s dog go?” Again, I had to say “Oh, he went home honey” he replies “bye bye Anne’s doggie” Then he is fine, onto the next subject….talk about a time delay…geeze!!

3) We went to the Ecotarium with Luke’s friend, Alana, this week. They had a toddler storytime and made a craft. I put it up on the fridge when we got home. Today, Luke looks at the fridge and says “hey, Lukie made that!!”

Memorial Day –

We went to the cape for the day over mem day weekend. It was great to see Mimi, Nana and the Parent family. Luke LOVED hangin' with chase-n-madison.

We came back to go to the local Memorial Day parade in Padanaram Village and had a BBQ with our neighbor friends later that day. Nice relaxing weekend...

My Trip to Hershey!!!

We all piled in the family car and headed to Hershey, PA to visit some friends. Hershey was big fun!! I got to hang out with my new friend, Cooper. He and I are buds. He has just as much energy as I do!! We went to the Hershey Chocolate Factory to see how they make the chocolate. We got to go through an assembly line, went on a little ride showing how they make it and best of all got free chocolate at the end!!!

We also got to go to the Hershey Theme Park. That was great. I went on my first rides. Cooper and I were lovin’ it. We rode all kinds of fun rides. Some with the grown-ups some without. I think we liked to ride alone better :)

We got to play a lot at his house with his toys. We ran around together, played together and even had our bath together! I wish Cooper lived closer. We would be best buds!

Happy Smiley Baby

Teeth -Teeth -Teeth -Mouth

Yesterday, Luke touched his teeth and said "Lukie has teeth". Then he looked at Marley and said "Marley has teeth". Then he looked at Mommy and said "Mommy has teeth". Then he looked at Paige...paused for a minute and said "Baby Paige has a mouth"....

Yes...It's that time!!!

Potty Training Season!! Luke has been doing OK. Will usually go on the potty if we offer but doesn't ask to go. I guess that is normal for now. We got the potty books, have a chart with special stickers when he goes he gets to put a sticker on the chart and gets a "special treat" - usually a single skittle or an M&M.

Today I went to the bathroom. Luke ran in and said "Mommy gets a sticker!"

Long Day Working In The Yard

At least that's what it looks like, right! Truth be told, I was just being a 2 year old...rolling around in the mud. I'm SO excited for summer :)
