Early Birthday for Paige -

Paige really wanted to have her birthday party at Snip Its this year after overhearing one of the mom's in the neighborhood tell me about it this past summer.  She got it stuck in her head & that is what she was going to do for her birthday.  This birthday party was about as girlie as you can get . The girls all got their hair, makeup and nails done.  They also got to make a little craft and take home the makeup in a goodie bag.  Once they were all dolled up, they were able to pick a princess dress and do a runway show followed by some dancing.  It was THE perfect birthday party for Paige.  It was also the perfect party for mom because for the first time I didn't have a house full of kids and a huge mess to clean up afterwards!

In keeping with the idea of an early birthday, we let Paige pick out her birthday present early too!  She has been asking for an American Girl doll for months.  We went to the AG store and she picked the doll that looks like her & named her Sara ( no H!)

Trying to make the most of the first dusting...

Kids were so excited to see snow this morning before school.  They tried to sled, which didn't work out so well.  They were hoping to play in the "snow" after school but it was long gone by then.

We've got the Teething Blues -

Ali has been teething like crazy lately.  She is a miserable sack!  I don't remember Luke & Paige being affected by the teething process nearly as much (drama queen??)

The poor things has been in so much pain the last couple weeks.  We barely get a smile out of her and she has been up a lot at night crying which makes her tired during the day.  It is a terrible cycle.  Every morning I wake up & feel for a tooth.....NOTHING!

These two pictures say it all.

Mudroom

I'm very excited to be getting a mudroom. After last winter with the cold and wet snow pants, jackets, boots, hats, gloves, and on and on and on...all over the living room floor, it became clear that we needed a designated space away from the rest of the house.

This has been the never-ending project but I will say that at the end of the day I'm very happy with the finished product and our contractor came in at budget (which is unheard of from what I understand about contractors).

Although this was a small space 6 x 12, it took a lot of work to plan out exactly what I wanted....then change course as things starts to come together.

Couldn't be happier with the result and so excited to FINALLY be able to use it....and just in time for the cold and snow.

Jay and Luke had a boys weekend last weekend and went to NH to visit Papa.  Here are a couple cute pics from a hike they took.  Luke loves it up there.  Outside and animals...two of Luke's favorite things.

Veteran's Day -

I was getting ready for work today and Luke came running in and said, "Mommy, since you sell radios to the government, you get the day off today too, right?"  Very cute...wishful thinking!!!

Luke also announced that because it was Veteran's Day today he was not supposed to be doing homework because they had no school and all.

When I asked him what Veteran's Day meant, he said, "It is about the army men and stuff."

He was curious, "What if there is a war on Veteran's Day? Do the army men still fight?  They probably do and just celebrate it after the war."

He also made a red, white and blue 3D star at school and put Grampy's name on it because he was "a fighter in the army."

Just some random pics....

Still loves getting dressed for school.  Outfit girl -

These two are still besties.  Luke comes into our room in the morning and if he hears Ali awake on the monitor, asks if he can go in and play with her.  He is so good with her.  He is very very good about making sure the gate at the top of the stairs is always closed when she is on the floor.  He also puts his comforter over his Lego table when she is in his room so she can't get at the little pieces.  He is all around the best big brother.  She is very lucky to have him :) and he adores her, wants to play with her all the time.  He reads to her and shows/teaches her things.  When she was sick a few weeks ago, he was very upset that she was crying and feeling so bad.  We had to go to the Dr & he was so nervous that she was going to have a shot.  I'm sure he will always be very protective over her.

Call me maybe??
