Today in the car Luke said, "I like the window open but I don't like the wind!"  This was his solution -

"I can hold the baby!"

This is what Luke told me today: "Mommy, I am going to be REALLY good at holding the baby. I can hold the baby and walk around but Paige is going to have to sit when she holds the baby. Do you know why I'm going to be so good at it? Because I can walk, sometimes run, with glass and I don't break it. I am very good at holding things that are fragile"

The Temporary House

We made it to Round Hill - or what the kids call this place "the temporary house" although Paige informed me this week that we should probably just call it the house since we are now living here. The kids love it. They think this is all one big adventure. Luke was set on unpacking and organizing his room as soon as we got in. He even put away all his clothes in drawers and set up all his toys. Luke is thrilled with the huge space out back to run around and catch frogs which he has been doing basically every day after he gets home from school. He also leaves carrots for the bunnies and loves checking in the morning to make sure they took his treats. There is a pond nearby, private beach, heated pool we can use for a couple more weeks, tennis, golf and a golf cart which the kids think is the best. We are also enjoying the quiet roads where the kids can ride their bikes free from cars. Here are some pics of our view out the back deck. Beautiful!

And then there were five...

At the beach, Paige was collecting shells. She found one for each person in the family. Then she came back over with a tiny one and said. "this one is the baby!"

Weekend at Papa's -

Seeing that we were homeless AND we needed to unload Marley for the next four months, we decided to head to Papa's after moving and closing on our house for the labor day weekend. It has been a while since we've been up and the kids were super excited to spend some time on the farm. Most of the weekend was spent puttering around the farm, catching frogs and picking wild flowers (I'll let you guess which activity was Luke's and which was Paige's). We also had to say goodbye to Marley for 4 months. We were sad to leave him but are very grateful he has a place to stay and will be having a great time of his own.
