Waiting for our invisible fence...

Today, Marley got his leash wrapped around a pile of snow in the backyard.  One slight pull and he would have pulled free but our Marley is clearly not smart enough for this, nor is he smart enough to go back the way he came to unwrap himself.  He has gotten himself "stuck" four times since he got home.  Once literally around a stick that was in the yard.  A baby squirrel could have pulled free.  He is.....well, he is our Marley!

You know that you've been on maternity leave too long when...

your son says to you, "mommy, why do you have a nice outfit on today?"

I was wearing jeans and a black cotton t-shirt. HA!

Time to get back to reality...one week left of no makeup and yoga pants for this mom!

Luke happened to hop on the scale in our bathroom the other day.

He said: "Oh, I weigh 55 pounds!"

I said: "You are a growing boy buddy, getting so big!"

He said: "But how much do you weigh mommy?"

LOVE getting this question....NOT!

I said: "How much do you think? If you weigh 55 pounds, how much does mommy weigh?"

He said: "Maybe 800 pounds?" Remaining calm, I thought OK he has bad estimating skills.

Then he said: "How much does daddy weight?"

Again I said" "What do you think, if you weight 55 pounds and you think mommy weights 800 pounds, how much do you think daddy weights" just hoping Jay came in somewhere north of 800 pounds.

He said: "probably 100 pounds?"

Great!

Luke was student of the week at school.  He got to make a poster board of all the things he likes and was able to share with his classmates -
Luke has been playing basketball as his winter sport.  He is very good according to daddy (I haven't been yet -home with Ali) -

Lake Winthrop -

We took a walk down to the lake this weekend as the weather was mild and the sun was shinning.  We gave up the ocean, which we are really going to miss come summer, but we do have a nice big lake within walking distance of our neighborhood.  Marley will love having a daily swim I'm sure.  Luke and Jay are planning on getting a kayak. On the other side of the lake, there is a town beach on the lake and they have swim lessons, etc.

Here we are ON the lake.  Some folks in the distance ice fishing -
