Ironman Louisville 2015

2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run.

I went with Jay super early to get setup and walk to the swim start which was a mile from transition. Lucky for me, Kerri was willing to stay with all the kids.

getting body marked with his race number -

crowded, dark and kinda cold waiting in the swim line -
The sun came up as we waited in line.  It took Jay about 30 minutes to get into the water after the race started -

The line was crazy!  3,000 swimmers and loved ones waiting single file -
Not nervous...excited!

Swim, up and around the island and back down -

We went to watch daddy in La Grange, a cute little town about 20 miles outside the city.  Since they did two loops, we saw him in the same spot 2 hours apart.  We spent the downtime having lunch and checking out the shops on the main drag -

Jay's friend, Jonah, had these big heads made.  They were actually really great for helping Jay pick us out in the crowed.  I never worried about him finding us with these!

Lunch in La Grange.  The kids were trouper all day.  Helped that they had their Nashville buddies to hang out with.

Best friend ever for spending the afternoon waiting around and holding a 3 foot sign of Jay's head.  She probably didn't bargain for this when she signed up for the weekend.

Daddy saw us on the first loop but too late to stop, so on the second loop he knew exactly where we would be so we got a good little (1 minute) visit with him.

The kids needed some downtime so while Kerri took them to the playground, I was able to see Jay come in on the bike and out of transition on the run.

We got special Tshirts for the day!

We had lots of signs.  This one Chase and Madison made for him -

We had lots of signs, most decorated the hotel room -

At 13 miles, we were able to see and chat with daddy for a couple minutes -

Waiting for daddy at the finish -
We were all very excited -

There he is, finished at 13:08 -
So proud of the daddy!!!
