"Under the Covies"
As soon as Paige wakes up in the morning, she sees me coming into her room as starts to yell "UNDER THE COVIES!!" She LOVES the winter ritual of coming into mommy and daddy's bed in the morning and snuggling under the covers. Luke loves it too..for a bit. Then he is usually off acting like a cheetah OR some other jungle animal.

Fort Peabody
Why do all kids love to make forts? Must be in the handbook, right next to the section on 'must scream and ask for everything and anything when mom is on the phone'. I digress! Mom was away last week for work. The kids (and Dad) did great. Lots of quality time. I got these pictures of some good quality fort making when I was away.

Stir Crazy
I think the weather is making everyone a little stir crazy. So much snow and too cold to spend too long outside is definitely getting to us all...some of us more than others.
Jay is obsessed with his bird feeder. Always has been but the inclement weather has increased his agitation. He is fearful that the squirrels are eating all his bird food. One Sunday afternoon (when we clearly had too much time on our hands) he put together his version of the winter bb gun to, in his words "get those #*$@*# squirrels one way or another"...

Happenings –
Tomorrow: Instead of saying “tomorrow”, Luke says “after this goodnight”. We were at a play date this week, we were leaving and he said “After this goodnight, can we go back there”. Everything is counted on how many goodnights it will take.
Good Job: Paige is very encouraging, I was cleaning the table after dinner the other night and she said “Good Job Mommy!” She has also said this about other mundane household tasks…nice to be appreciated!
Hiccup: Paige doesn’t really understand what a hiccup is. When she sneezes, she says “I hiccup mommy!” The other day she…well…she had a little gas. She looked at me and said, “My bummy hiccup mommy!” What a pleasant way to put it, I guess!
Mac-n: Paige told me this week that for dinner she wanted to have “Mac-n-roni”

CLP Birthday Party
Thursday, January 20, 2011
This is Paige’s tattoo. She loves Hello Kitty. She LOVES her tattoo. Looks at it all the time, always wants her shirt sleeve pulled up. When I change her clothes, she is fast to look at it to make sure it is still there, you know…and didn’t come off on her shirt. She DOES not like it when you touch her tattoo. She says “no touch that!” She also doesn’t want to take a bath because she is afraid it will come off.

Someone is Four Years Old!!!
Can't believe it. Luke is four! This is the first year we've done a kids party. I somehow got away with just a family party in the past but this year Luke was having none of that. He wanted a party with his friends, at home and on his birthday. Very specific little birthday man. We kept it small, just invited a few of his friends. I had someone come and do balloon animals and glitter tattoos for the kids. It was good entertainment and made it a bit more special. Luke loved it!! The Setup -
Getting tattoos -
On to balloon animals -
Dueling Spidey -
The Happy Birthday Boy -
Happy Birthday -
Yum...cupcakes -
Opening presents -
BIRTHDAY BOY!!
We celebrated Luke's birthday in the morning, just us. Luke loved his horses from Grandma and Grandpa and his LAX sticks, soccer ball and goal from us. When Paige woke up in the morning, I reminder her it was Luke's birthday. She walked into our room and gave him the best rendition of the HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG. It was so cute. I didn't capture it on video but did get this one later that day...as you can see, Luke was very appreciative of his sister's serenade...NOT!

SNOW DAYS -
Lots of snow means lots of time inside. What have we been doing to pass the time so far this winter??
Abusing the dog -
Putting on our best party dresses, just to see if they still fit -
Taking lots of naps, in odd places around the house -
Resort to watching the fish swim around his bowl -
Doing LOTS and LOTS of dishes -
Watch shows on Animal Planet about a South African Snake Hunter guy and do reenactments -
