Weekend at Papa's -
Seeing that we were homeless AND we needed to unload Marley for the next four months, we decided to head to Papa's after moving and closing on our house for the labor day weekend. It has been a while since we've been up and the kids were super excited to spend some time on the farm. Most of the weekend was spent puttering around the farm, catching frogs and picking wild flowers (I'll let you guess which activity was Luke's and which was Paige's). We also had to say goodbye to Marley for 4 months. We were sad to leave him but are very grateful he has a place to stay and will be having a great time of his own.

GOODBYE Little Yellow House!!!
Today, the movers came in the morning and took our worldly possessions to storage, we had our walk-through and we closed on our house in the afternoon. We are no longer home owners (aka: homeless). I sent the kids to a friends house in the morning for the move. When they came back the house was empty. They haven't been phased by all of this and they were not phased by the empty house (except Luke's insistence on taking his Cars light switch which we inadvertently overlooked). They ran around the empty space for a few and said "OK, lets go to Papas!" Our house has been dubbed the "Little Yellow House" over the years. Whenever referring to the house, the kids would say "when are we going back to the little yellow house" or "I don't want to go back to the little yellow house, I want to stay at Disney" It stuck and we've even caught friends calling it that from time to time..haha!

Sea Sick
Today, Luke informed me that he is suffering from sea sickness due to all the times I've brought him to the beach this summer. Sounds like a form of child abuse! This was in response to my asking if the kids wanted to have a beach day today. I guess it is a good thing the summer is almost over. Sounds like someone has had enough.

Selling the "little yellow house"
As I was getting breakfast ready this morning, Luke must have been reflecting on his years in the house. He said "Mommy, the funniest thing that ever happened at this house was when the seagull flew over the house with a piece of bread and dropped it on the roof. That was so funny, right?" I either don't remember this because I didn't find it memorable or wasn't present at that moment. Luke was chuckling just telling the story. So there you have it, the funniest story from the little yellow house.

Camp -
Daddy has been wanting to take the kids camping all summer. Lots of talk about it, finally decided to execute. He thought he would break them in easy by doing a night in the backyard. Paige insisted she was up for the "camping trip". The kids were both very excited. Mommy was equally excited to be inside watching TV in her nice comfy bed. Paige lasted about 1.5 hours until she smartened up and realized being inside was a heck of a lot more comfortable than sleeping on the grass in the backyard. Luke and daddy lasted all night.

BEST DINNER EVER!!!
Today, the kids came down for dinner. They were both SO excited. Paige started jumping around chanting "THIS IS THE BEST DINNER EVER!!"
Notice the lack of color in this meal. Left to their own devices they would clearly be eating fried food every day....wait, that's called college.
