Our little artist!

We got a letter from Luke's art teacher saying that his work was selected to be in the Holliston Harvest Fair.  We were very excited and proud of Luke!  We've always known he is a good artist.  From what I could tell, it looks like they picked 3 or 4 children per grade (3rd through 5th) to participate.

His assignment was to make a picture all in shapes.

Great Wolf Lodge -

The kids were off school in the middle of the week for a Jewish holiday so we headed to Great Wolf Lodge for the night with some friends.

I decided that the best way to describe this place is Vegas for kids.  So big and so much going on.  Not a lot of windows and no sense of time.  The indoor water parks are the main attractions but they have everything from indoor bowling, ropes course, mini-golf, arcade, you name it...

Kids had a blast but I think one night was plenty enough (for us moms anyway!)

The lobby is huge and the kids were so excited as soon as we walked in.  They also go these little wolf ears upon check-in (Luke wasn't going to be seen wearing the ears)

 GWL mascot?

I think the kids were most excited about the bunk beds.  They loved the "wolf den".  I ended up having the girls and Luke slept in the other room with his buddy -

Two huge rooms of water fun!

 Isn't it ironic?
Wolf origami making in the lobby (they really loved this for some reason) -
 Indoor wave pool -
Two tired little wolf cubs -
Seeing that we drove through Bolton, we had to stop to get our pumpkins and for a twist cone on the way home -

Chance meeting with Carlton Fisk -

Luke and Jay went to the Sox game and were lucky enough to meet Carlton Fisk who happened to be walking through the stadium.  Jay said he was very nice.  I think Jay was more excited about this because when they came home and I asked Luke who he met he said, "What was his name again?"
That's OK Luke, that was 40 years before your time.

Back to school nite

Has back to school night for both the kids in September.  Luke's buddy (with messy handwriting) had to "interview" him.
Mom, you'll be happy to see that his favorite part of the summer was going to Ohio.
And he is still talking about Cheetahs!

First Day of School -

Kids are back to school this week.  Both are very excited to get back in the swing of things.

Luke moves to Miller School (3rd -5th) this year.  He gets on the bus an hour before Paige and gets home an hour before her too.  Luke was very excited to have a male teacher this year Mr. Dooher.  He also has some buddies from his football team in his class.

Paige also got a great teacher Madam St. Aubin.  We've heard great things about her, Paige is VERY excited for first grade.  There are only two french classrooms so she returns to class with roughly 1/2 the kids from last year.  She loved seeing all her girlfriends.  They will spend the first month or so reviewing and by October the classroom instruction will be 100% french (hope she never needs help with her homework!)

Paige in her classroom during her orientation the day before school started -

No chance of getting this guy dressed up for his first day, but he was very excited -
Besties at the bus stop -
 They are off!!
It took Paige (and Mom) 35 minutes to pick out the perfect outfit.
 Bus stop friends -
#2 is off and running -
Uh Oh!  6:45PM and looks like we are fried!
