Beach Time!!!

Although the weather has been horrendous so far this summer; rain…rain...and more rain, we did manage to squeak in our first beach day this year. We loaded up the beach wheelie cart (a must for walking to the beach!!) with all the “stuff” and headed down. Luke got to show off his beach bod for the first time this year. Paige relaxed under the umbrella. We’re waiting for the weather to cooperate so we can take full advantage of being so close to the water!

More Please...

We had a bit of a scare with Luke and a bottle of Spray 'n Wash the other day. Apparently, it tastes like liquid candy as Luke was gulping it down. A call to poison control, some liquids and lots of vomiting later it was all good!! The worse part of the whole story was 30 min. after the episode when things settled down and I asked what he wanted for breakfast. He pointed to the Spray 'n Wash bottle on the counter...

284 times a charm....

I read that if your toddler doesn’t take to a certain food right away then try try again. It could take up to 10 times before your toddler warms up.

Getting Luke to eat veggies has always been a challenge. He just doesn’t eat them. But I continue to try….and try…and try…. At least 3 times a week, I’ll make some veggies with his dinner and have been doing this for a good year. I’ve tried six ways to sideways to get him to eat them…butter…cheese…special bowls, playing airplane or promises of a yummy dessert. I kept telling myself that one of these days he is going to eat them. I’m happy to report that day was today! To my complete astonishment, Luke, completely unprovoked, decided to pick up his fork and eat the entire bowl of veggies I’d made for him. He didn’t say a word and neither did Mommy….I’m hoping it happens again tomorrow but won’t hold my breath.

Moral of the story: For the textbook toddler 10 times may be all it takes, for Luke it is more like 280 times. I never claimed Luke was a textbook toddler…we all know that :)

I'm Sleeping through the Night :)

Mom is THRILLED!! I have been sleeping from 7pm until 7am for the last 5 days. Mom says she is waiting for the bottom to fall out. I don't want my bottom to fall out...

Bees, Bunnies and Squirrels

I love to do yard work with Daddy. I am a big help. I love to gather sticks, jump in the dirt and pick leaves off the trees. I am afraid of bees but I do love seeing bunnies and squirrel. I did see a squirrel sleeping in the middle of the road the other day when I was on a walk with Mommy. I said “Mommy, squirrel is sleeping”. For some reason she thought that was funny. I don’t know what is funny about a sleeping squirrel in the road. He better be careful, the middle of the road is not the place I’d be hanging out….

Another song we practiced and sang for my graduation celebration at preschool was God Bless America. I have been singing all my songs around the house. Mommy caught me on tape singing this one…

I Graduated!!!

My preschool, Little Learners, had a graduation for my class for the end of the year celebration. Here I am so proud with my certificate in one hand and a rice krispie treat in another. I love my teachers, Miss Sonya and Miss Nadine... The video is hard to see. I am the one all the way to the left of the stage. Some guy has his big head in the way...but you can get the idea. We said the pledge of allegiance and sang 4 songs. Then we each got called up to get our certificates and chocolate grad hats.

Storyland

I went to Storyland last weekend with my friends Will, Jackson and Katie. It is a big fun theme park in NH gears to those small fry guys like me! We rented a house and stayed for the weekend. We did the park all day Saturday. I was able to run all the rides. I rode a water log ride, a rafting ride, and lots of kiddie rides but the best was the roller coaster daddy took me on!! It was the best and VERY fast. I handled it very well. We got yummy “park” treats too! AND I got to meet one of my idols…Super Why!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Marley!!

We've made it....3 years with the Marley man (if you've ever had a lab you'll know how monumentus this is!). Oh how he's grown. He is becoming such a good boy. What did he get for his birthday??? I three day weekend, all expenses paid at the local Kennel...he loved it :)
