I'm 2!!!

No not Luke…it’s me Marley!! I can post on the blog too!!! Mom and Dad keep saying “well we made it 2 years with him”. Not sure what that means but I think they are so proud of how much growing up I’ve done in the past year. I’m allowed out of my crate most of the time someone is home b/c I am no longer a “complete liability”. I still chew Luke’s toys, jump up and get food every chance I get and sometimes get a little crazy in the house but I’m maturing every day.

My friends from the neighborhood came over and we had doggie ice cream. Mom and Dad gave me a stuffed duck…the one from Target, my favorite!!! I’m going to try not to destroy this one for at least like two weeks or something.

Zoo Time

We spend the Mem Day at the Southwick Zoo this past Monday. It was big fun. I like the zoo. I got to see all the animals Mommy and Daddy point out in my books. There were Zebras, giraffes, elephants, camels, monkeys, you name it. AND I got to swing on the swings. AND I went to the petting zoo area and touched some goats and a turkey looking thing. AND I got to feed the deer in the deer park – daddy didn’t have 50 cents for the deer food so we used some of my snacks, apparently deer don’t like cut up pancakes too much, who knew!

FUN WITH BOXES!!

Normal people get a shipping box, take the contents out and put it out for the trash…..not in this house!! One order from diapers.com + bored family members = big fun with boxes!!!

GO DADDY GO!!!

Daddy and Auntie Kelly did their first Triathlon this morning. Mommy and I came out to cheer them on. The both did an amazing job. Congrats guys!!!

But the best part of the whole thing was the swing set nearby for me to waste some time. I LOVE to swing and watch everyone race!!!

Parenting Lesson #458

When you hear your toddler on the monitor cracking up laughing in his crib….alone…when he should be sleeping – take action!!

Last night, about an hour after Luke went to bed I heard him in the monitor laughing so hard for about 2 or 3 minutes. I thought what in the world could be so funny. He talks a lot while he is going to sleep, throws things out of his crib, drinks from his sippy but laughing…that was a first. We, mistakenly, forgot about it and went to bed. Poor Jay went into Luke’s room this morning to find a pantless, diaperless Luke standing in his crib smiling ear to ear. Diaper thrown to one side of the room, pants to the other. Yes, Luke spent the night “free as a bird”. We can only imagine, he must have been so thrilled with himself seeing his favorite activity is running around after bath time naked. Needless to say we had quite a bit of laundry this morning and duck taped his diaper on tonight…he he!!!

I'm a BIG helper around the house, haven't you heard?

I honestly do not know what these parents of mine did before I came along. I am such a big helper around the house.

Here I am helping Mom clip Sunday coupons:

And here, cleaning the dishes:

Organizing the Q-tip drawer:

And best of all, I can handle this dinner thing all on my own!!

Who ever said toddlers were hard???

Marathon Monday!

Dad took me to the Boston Marathon yesterday. We met Auntie Kelly, Cousins Madison and Chase and Mimi there. The weather was again a perfect 10…maybe a bit warm for the runners but for me it was perfect!!! We got to see all the elite runners and even Lance Armstrong. Dad says only foreigners win because Americans are couch potatoes. I don’t really understand this whole marathon thing but I did clap as they went by. If I had to go that long of a distance I would definitely have Mom or Dad stroll me the 26.2 miles cause those people looked like they were hurtin’.

Another Big Fun Weekend!!

The weather this weekend was a perfect 10, especially for April in New England. We took advantage of every little bit. On Saturday I took Mom and Dad to Nara Park here in Acton. We played on the playground, swings, went on a walk and Marley even got a swim in!! Sunday I helped Mom with the flower boxes. Marley apparently didn’t like Mom's selection of flowers because not a day after we planted he was digging them up….OH MARLEY!!!!

Family Fun Day!!

Today Mom and Dad took me into Boston to go to the aquarium. We had big fun. First we had lunch and the nice waitress brought me ice cream for dessert! Then we went to the aquarium. It is awesome there. Lots of fishies!! Mom and Dad were talking up the penguins all morning but when we got there the penguin weren’t there. Their exhibit was under construction :( but I did get to see fish, sharks, seahorse (like the one in my bathtub!), starfish, you name it!! I was having so much fun, I forgot about my afternoon nap! Then we walked (strolled) around Faneuil Hall. I people watched from my stroller. Daddy says sometimes you see weirder things on the streets of Boston than you do in the aquarium. We watched street performers and people making animals out of balloons. THEN…met Mommies work friends as they began their bar crawl through the city. I loved being at the bar. Lots of TVs around and music. I was a trooper today but was very tired by the time we got home. Goodnight!!!
