Storyland
This past weekend, was the annual Storyland trip with the five families. To make things easier, Jay and Ali decided to stay home this go around. Maybe next year Ali can enjoy it!
The kids enjoyed riding the new roller coaster over...and over....and over! The park was empty so the kids were able to ride just about anything they wanted as much as they wanted. For that reason, it was also easier to stay together as a big group. It was one of the better times we've had at the park too!
We keep wondering when the kids will grow out of the park but they seem to have more and more fun each year. Being with their friends and staying over in the "mansion" is most the fun I'm sure.

Labor Day Weekend at Papas -
We decided to head north this Labor Day Weekend. It has been a while since we've been up to the farm and there have been some new additions (the Guinea Hens & two goats) that the kids wanted to check out.
We had a nice long weekend so were able to pack in a lot of fun activities. We went to a fair one day, hung out on the farm and the boys took a hike another day. Kids mostly enjoyed being outside on the farm (even going for a swim in the creek).

Back to School -
Luke started Second Grade on Tuesday and Paige started Kindergarten on Wednesday.
Luke's teacher is Mrs. Burke who happens to be his football coaches wife. We told Luke that he best behave in class because Mrs. Burke will tell Coach Pete everything!! I can't say that Luke was excited to go back to school. He loves the unstructured fun of summer and playing with his friends for hours and hours on end. He did say that the only thing he was looking forward to was the holidays when he could be off school. But I do think he was a little excited the morning of the first day of school.
On Tuesday, after we got Luke on the bus, we went to Paige's class to check it out and meet her teacher. Paige was very excited to see her new school.
Paige is in the French Immersion program. Her teacher's name is Mademoiselle Mason. She will be instructed 100% in French through fifth grade. In K they speak French and English. By October of her first grade year, she will be taught only in French and will only be allowed to speak French in the classroom. The teachers say that they are fluent by third grade. She is excited and a bit scared about learning French.
The French K program is half day so Paige gets picked up by the bus at noon and rides home with Luke and all the other K-2 kids. The second half the year she will switch to AM K and get on the bus with Luke and ride home midday.
Checking out the classroom -
Of course, everything is in French. Paige asked me what this said, it will be the first of many questions I won't be able to answer about her schoolwork!
Ready for the bus -
Meeting our friend Adriana at the stop. Since French is half day, we are the only two on the bus stop at this time -
There she goes!!!
So excited coming off the bus. Success!!!
And she showed back up on day two (good sign!) -
Now, is it time for me to go to school????
