NY - Cape

This past weekend the boys had a boy's weekend and the girls a girl's weekend.

Luke and Jay went to Lake Placid to watch our friend Jonah do the Ironman.
The guys had fun seeing all that Lake Placid had to offer on Saturday and watched the race on Sunday.  Probably the best pictures are of the hotel room.  Since this is a much sought after time to be in the area, hotels go from a pretty penny. For that reason, Luke and Jay ended up at this interesting mid century modern (mainly b/c it hasn't been redecorated since mid-century).  Jay kept telling me how clean it was.  I was hoping they weren't using the sheets.

Regardless of the accommodations, they had a great weekend and Jonah did an awesome job finishing his first Ironman in 12 and a half hours.  I couldn't imagine the time and dedication to train for a race like this!

I took the ladies to the cape to visit Mimi. We had a nice time at the pool.  Paige and I went to Falmouth center to the playground & for some shopping.  Sunday, Paige had a local friend over which was nice b/c it ended up raining all day.

HAT

I found this hat and washed it the other day to put it away until winter.  Paige found it drying and decided that she had to have it.  She has been wearing it around the house in the summer heat (OK so we have A/C but it is still weird!)

Has anyone seen my puff?

Office

Luke had a long standing office in our Dartmouth "temporary house".  Paige put together her own office this week in the living room.  Not sure what the fascination with offices is in this house.  Paige had a laptop, gum and a waste basket -which she said were the most important things for an office.

She also said: "I have a boss but he is on vacation so I have to do all the work.  My boss sleeps a lot in his office so I have to do everything.  It is really hard.  I have too much to do."

Already office drama and she isn't even collecting a paycheck yet!

Ali - 8 Months!

I'm 8 months! I'm moving around like crazy.  Sleeping on my belly, flipping over and over and over.  I'm sitting on my own too!  Eating some small finger foods too...still working on getting them in my mouth but am very interested! Took my first dip in the pool this month and first trip to the beach too! I'm getting too old for the swing and bouncy chair and do my best to wiggle out so I can be free to roll around.  I'm also starting to put weight on my legs...getting them ready for walking!

Wiggle, wiggle right out of the seat -

Track -

The town puts on little track meets every Monday in the summer. We finally made it last week.  It is so cute (especially seeing three year old girls running!) They are separated by age and gender.  The kids really loved it.  They do a 50, 100, 200 & 400.  The 400 is a bit long for them but Paige finished it! I think we'll try it again next week.

Our bird nest -

Luke came running into the house the other day all upset because he and a neighbor boy were shaking a tree and a little baby bird fell out.  After realizing the little guy was still alive, we scooped him back up and put him back in the nest.  Luke was VERY concerned about his well being and that the "mommy bird was going to be really mad".  We've been watching out little nest ever since.  In this pic, I think the poor guy thought I was mommy coming back with some food.  They are cardinals as we have seen mommy in there caring for her babies.  We can't tell how many are in there at least two or three.  We hope the little guy that took a tumble is OK!  They are very young.  Eyes not open yet and no feathers just some fuzz on their naked skin.  They are cuties though..

Luke and I were reading one of his bird books.  He got to this page and said, "Oh, this eagle has hair like Ali!"
