I was making Luke's bed today thinking how cute and little he still is with his stuffed animals but such a big boy too.  He is in school all day every day and getting so tall.  I don't want to day to come when he is too big to litter his bed with stuffed animals....I know it will be too soon!

Cape Cod Marathon

Jay ran the CC marathon today.  CONGRATS on a great race daddy!!!  Mimi and UJ and Chrissie came out to watch too. It was a small marathon and they didn't close roads so we were able to get around the course pretty easily and saw him 4 times throughout the race.  He looked great and said he felt great and had a great time doing it.

SOCCER

Soccer ended this week for both kids.  Paige did a little munchkin soccer program at the Y.  Luke did the Dartmouth town soccer, Jay was one if his coaches.

Paige picked soccer over ballet which shocked everyone but she got to decide.  She liked it (wasn't over the moon about it like she was ballet) and followed along with the crowd, getting a kick in every now and again.

Although their soccer was usually around the same time on Saturday morning, Paige and I were able to make it to a few of Luke's games. She was MUCH more interested in getting a ring pop then what was going on around the field.
Isn't it illegal for your little sister to be hangin' inside the white line?

This and That...

Luke said, "Mommy, why do superheroes only fight at nighttime?”  Then he thought about it for a minute and said, “Oh yeah, they probably have jobs during the day.”

I told Paige we had to go to the dry cleaner.  She said "I don't like the shirt dry cleaner, I only want to go to the car wash dry cleaner."  OK Paige.  Got it!

Art

Paige made portriats of some of the family this week.  Does yours look like you????

Happy Birthday Daddy -

We celebrated Jay's 37th year with a dinner and his favorite ice cream cake.  Daddy also made out in the gifts department with a new trainer for his bike.  I did warn him there probably wasn't much leftover for Santa to buy his christmas gifts :)
Happy Birthday Daddy!

LOVE...

Paige, just wanted to love on Luke.  Girls(at least ours) is so different than boys (at least ours).  Sometimes you just need to hug your big brother. Luke just goes about his business.  At least he doesn't push her away...yet :)

Luke walked outside this afternoon and was SO EXCITED to see a "river" as he calls it, running through our backyard (on an unrelated note, our neighbors were emptying their swimming pool).  He spent hours playing with his animals in the water - we need to get these kids a bigger yard!
Kids have been loving the bike rides lately which have been more fun since Paige can actually move at a walking pace - way to step it up Paige -

Finding worms - yuck!

Apple Picking in Little Compton, RI

After a bad experience apple picking down here a few years ago, we swore we would stick to the Stow, MA area BUT our friends went in Stow on a weekend we were in NH so we decided to try a new place.  Fortunately, this was a great little farm and they were having a fall festival going on too! Face painting, pumpkin painting (with permanent paint..grrrr!), hayrides, blue grass bands, all sorts of fun fall games, food, food, food and of course apple picking.  We had a great time, had great weather and would highly recommend this place.  It was beautiful!

First order of business, face painting -

 How do we look???
Second on the list - pumpkin painting.  Cost $4 but with the $200 worth of clothes we ruined with the NON WATER BASED PAINT we're all in $204 for these two pumpkins :) -

 Apples along the way -
Luke was doing apples on a stick, loved this -

Stopped in Tiverton for lunch/dinner on the way home.  Such a cute spot.  Ate outside -

High...

Luke and Paige were playing outside this morning while I got some things done in the house.  Paige came running in and said, "Mommy, I have a scratch" pointing to her leg.  After locating the barley visible scratch and assuring her it was going to be OK, I asked her how it happened.  She said, "It happened when I was high."

I was relieved to find out that she was high in the tree house not high in any other sort of meaning :)  HA HA!!
