Birthday Hat Candy

Yesterday, Luke and I put up the Halloween decorations. One of the little bears was holding a candy corn. Luke asked if that was a type of a candy, wanted to know what it was called and asked if we could get some at the grocery.

Today, Grandma and Grandpa just left for the grocery. Luke says to me, "are they going to get me some of the...the one candies that I want...the birthday hat candies"

Santa_Clause@yahoo.com

The other day, I needed to get ready for a girls night out. Jay was at work and I had both kids. I rarely attempt to shower and get ready with the two of them toddling around the house but had no choice that day. This is what I came out of the shower to see in our closet. They each got time outs - completely unfazed. Then I told them that I was going to tell daddy when he got home and he would be very disappointed - still unfazed. I then went downstairs and got the camera. I took a picture of the mess.

Luke said. "mommy, what are you doing?"

In a moment of pure genius, I said "I need a picture to send with the email I'm writing Santa."

Then things got serious.

Luke started pacing the room, "Why are you sending it to Santa"

I calmly explained that Santa needed to know what was going on, the GOOD and the BAD. He needs to know how many toys to make and bring you for Christmas.

This did not go over well. Luke starting talking fast. First he tried the 'I'll throw my sister under the bus' tactic by saying "but Paigey did most of it"

When that didn't work, he said "but I can clean it up mommy, you don't have to tell Santa"

Counting...

Paige can count to 10. She love to do it too. She understands multiples. When there is more of something, she starts saying in a fast voice "1,2,3,5" in any rough combination of the numbers while pointing to her subject. She gets very proud that she gets this and other things as she figures this world of hers out!

Bedtime with Daddy...

Daddy has always been good at the bedtime stories. The kids LOVE daddy's stories. He creates characters that Luke asks me to tell stories about when daddy is not home. I can't keep up with all the flying superhero's etc..

They also love when daddy comes home from work and we all go upstairs to "help daddy change" which turns into pillow fights and playing!!

Mommy and Me...

Luke has gotten to the stage, as most little boy's probably do, where he walks around telling people that he wants to "marry mommy when he grows up!" This is so cute and I hate to correct him because I know that before long, I'll be out and the girls in his class will be in. I tired to explain to him that he will find a girl in school or a friend that he will want to marry. He assures me this will not be the case. "I want to marry you, mommy!" As a backup, he did mention that he is WILLING to marry Paige-y if things don't work out between he and I.

At least we are talking about girls, an improvement over the previous months when the only person he wanted to marry was Jacob, his best friend from down the street!

Cousin's Weekend Falll 2010

This past weekend, we had Chase and Madison for the weekend. Luke and Paige were VERY excited about this. Luke was very particular as to which cereals they wanted when we went to the grocery store (all happened to be his favs...hhhmmmm) which proved to be a bad idea when he was in my face at 615AM asking for a bowl of Lucky Charms...I digress!

We had a great weekend full of activities that included: having a pizza party, the "boys" going to Tball for Luke and the "girls" went to music class for Paige. Going to the zoo, riding the train and the carosoul. Playing at the playground and outside on the swingset. Listening to Uncle Jay's stories and watching a movie. The list goes on...

Is there a universal rule that all kids must love putting on their parents shoes??
