HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY MARLEY MAN -

Can you believe it, we've made it 4 years with the Marley man?? We almost can't! The first 2 maybe 3 years our heads were still spinning but he has really come into his own this year. We reflected today saying that this was DEFINITELY his best year yet and only getting better. He is such a good boy these days. Now if we could only get him to stop shedding...





I couldn't help it, I had to take a walk down memory lane. How cute was he??

"Paige in a Duffle"

When we were single, had lots of time on our hands and nothing better to do than bother poor little Ashley Joan, rest her little soul, Jay used to put her in a gym bag and walk around the house going "Ashley in a duffle". I know I have pictures of this somewhere but can't find them. Looks like someone else is getting the brunt of the abuse these days. It is always the mild mannered ones that get torchered...

Mem Day Weekend -

We had a good but low-key memorial day this year. It was nice to relax, Jay and I tried not to work much and just hang out. We went to the cape on Sunday for the day to visit with "the people". Luke and Paige were very excited to spend the day with their cousins. Luke went swimming with Chase and Madison while Paige slept. Uncle Jay played in the yard with the kids..as usual. Then we all headed to the playground once she got up. Other than that, we just hung out, had dinner with Mimi and Nana and headed home!




On Monday, I took the kids to the parade that went through our village streets. Luke loved the drums of the band, the fire truck and the horses. Paige liked the dog that was watching with its owner nearby.

Luke insisted that I take video of him flipping the other day, and was so excited to watch it back.

I've just now had a chance to download some video we took over the last month. I'll post a few. This one is cute, especially Paige ;)

Exciting happenings...

Couple exciting things going on around here-
1) Luke has been 100% diaper free for 3 days straight. We're talking 24 hours a day. It actually happened by accident. We forgot to put his diaper on one night before bed, he came out around midnight and said "I have to go potty, daddy" I guess he showed us he was ready. Definitely psyched to have one out of diapers. I'm targeting Paige EARLY - 2 years old and I'm coming after you, Paige!

2) Paige has been threading 2 words together for some weeks now, just too busy to make it on the blog before now. She says things like:
"Daddy Hat"
"Mommy Hold"
"Marley Tired"
Binky Nite Nite"

Much of this is only understandable to the parents but she is a little talker that one!

Christmas in May

Yesterday, Luke was standing in the family room. He stopped, looked at the fireplace and says "Mommy, where are the stockings!?"

Very observant child.

My Favorite Type of a Dog -

Since Luke was little, we have always explained animals as if they are in “groups” Like Cocker Spaniels, Labs and Poodles are all types of Dogs and Toucans, Cardinals and Owls are all types of Birds.
Last week he stated talking about Floppy, his little stuffed doggie. He said, “Mommy, Floppy is a type of a dog."
Now whenever he references Floppy, he doesn’t use his name, he says “type of a dog”

“Mommy, where is my type of a dog”
“I’m going to go to bed with my type of a dog”
Goofy kid.
