We had a nice visit with Grandma and Grandpa. They were able to come over school vacation and my first week back at work. They watched all three kids a couple days and came out in once piece!

Snow Days!!!
We've had a couple snow days this year. Easy and fun now that I'm on leave from work and am able to enjoy the snow with the kids. Lucky for us there are lots of kids in the neighborhood and a decent sized hill for the kids to use.

Waiting for our invisible fence...
Today, Marley got his leash wrapped around a pile of snow in the backyard. One slight pull and he would have pulled free but our Marley is clearly not smart enough for this, nor is he smart enough to go back the way he came to unwrap himself. He has gotten himself "stuck" four times since he got home. Once literally around a stick that was in the yard. A baby squirrel could have pulled free. He is.....well, he is our Marley!

You know that you've been on maternity leave too long when...
I was wearing jeans and a black cotton t-shirt. HA!
Time to get back to reality...one week left of no makeup and yoga pants for this mom!

Luke happened to hop on the scale in our bathroom the other day.
He said: "Oh, I weigh 55 pounds!"
I said: "You are a growing boy buddy, getting so big!"
He said: "But how much do you weigh mommy?"
LOVE getting this question....NOT!
I said: "How much do you think? If you weigh 55 pounds, how much does mommy weigh?"
He said: "Maybe 800 pounds?" Remaining calm, I thought OK he has bad estimating skills.
Then he said: "How much does daddy weight?"
Again I said" "What do you think, if you weight 55 pounds and you think mommy weights 800 pounds, how much do you think daddy weights" just hoping Jay came in somewhere north of 800 pounds.
He said: "probably 100 pounds?"
Great!

Finally, we got our first born back in the house -
Marley is officially depressed. We brought him home from his almost 6 month stint in NH thinking he was going to be so happy to be reunited with his family. We were mostly wrong. Although he was happy to see us in NH, he certainly didn't appreciate us tearing him away from his two very fun cousins (Rooster and Daisy) and making him leave his paradise. He spent the first week moping around the house. Depressed dog. I guess we were kidding ourselves by thinking he missed us all that much.
Don't worry Marley, eventually you'll forget all about your fun and exciting life on the farm and settle into your boring life as a suburban house dog.
