Pre-Easter Party with "the five families"

Saturday, we had a party with "the five families" as we've been dubbed. The kids had a great time and since they have been having mock Easter egg hunts in the backyard, they were ready for the real deal! Making our baskets- The hunt is on - Lots of eggs for Luke - Mid-hunt chat "so, what'd you get for eggs so far??" - Livvy got 2 eggs, dumped them out and gathered them up most of the time, so cute - The hunters -

Sunnies...

Paige LOVES her sunglasses. Often, before we leave the house, she will yell "SUNGLASSES!"

skating!

Luke started skating a few weeks ago. Beginner class. I don't know who is more excited Luke or Jay. Jay went out and bought new skates...for himself, and a stick for Luke to play around with the pucks they bring out at the end of class. The first couple classes were a bit tough but Luke is improving every class! The teacher is super nice. She even brought skates for Paige to try one week. Paige was SO excited to get out on the ice after watching big brother all those weeks.

Boston Children's Museum

Today we spent a fun day at the Boston Children's Museum with our good friends Will and Livvy (and Mom). Daddy is away for the weekend so it is a great distraction for the kids. They LOVED it. We'll have to go back soon, we didn't get through the whole thing before everyone was too tired to stand!

On TV...COOL

Learning all sorts of interesting things..

We're off..

"Paige, could you like close your month when you eat" ..

Best buddies..

This is literally what they did when they walked in the door, too tired to stand!

Breakfast Chat -

I may not have captured this verbatim but it is pretty close:
Luke: “Paige, did you hatch from an egg?”
Paige: “Yeah!”
Luke: “Paige, my favorite animal is a Cheetah. I like Cheetahs because they run really really fast and they are the fastest animal ever.”
Luke: “But Paige, what is your favorite animal?”
Paige: “I like a princess and a fairy”
Luke: “NO PAIGE! A-N-I-M-A-L!! What is your favorite ANIMAL?!!”
Paige: “Bunny rabbit”
Luke: “Cheetah’s eat bunny rabbits, Paige.”
Luke: “I like animals with dots”
Paige: “I like dogs too!”
Luke: “NO PAIGE, DOTS not DOGS!”
Paige: “I like dogs”
Luke: “I’m not talking about DOGS Paige, I like the cats with DOTS like a Cheetah.”
Paige: “Dogs”
Luke: “I only like the fire engine dogs because they have dots, that is the only one that I like, because they have the dots.”
Paige: “Yeah, dogs!”

Yearly Checkups

Somehow I failed to post when the kids had their 2 and 4 year checkups a few weeks ago. Of course, I didn't write down their stats and totally forget but will update this post when I get them from the Dr.

The 4 year old checkup is the most traumatic yet. They get 4 shots and a blood draw. Luke remained calm through the finger prick but as soon as they started sticking him with shots it was all over. Lucky for him, the nurse is quick and it was over in no time. By the time they got to the hall, Luke seemed to have forgotten as he awaited his sticker and lollipop.

Paige had no walk in the park either. She also had blood taken and 2 shots. I think the 4 year is more traumatic because they now remember and are much more aware of what is going on. Can't wait to see what happens next visit.

Here they are the morning of, completely unaware, as they make drawings for Dr. Jen -

UNDIES!!!

The day has finally come. Paige is very excited but I think I'm most excited of all. NO MORE DIAPERS!!! WOO HOO!!! Paige took to potty training so quickly. She just got it pretty much right away. She started wearing underwear during the day about a week ago. She has had a few accidents but overall is doing really great. Most of the time, she just goes on her own (on her little potty) poops and pees. She still has a diaper at night for now. After the last go around, I was ready for a long battle but this was one of the easiest parenting things I'd gone through yet!

And she is very excited about her princess undies. She shows everyone and anyone her undies (we need to work on that a bit) and also asks to see YOUR undies (also needs some fine tuning)

Here she is getting her new princess undies. She always picks them out in the morning. If you don't let her pick out just the right pair, she gets very upset. She also pulls her pants down 14 times a day to look and start conversations about them. "Mommy did you see my pretty undies" "My undies are so pretty" "I have undies on, Mommy, princess ones!"
