This morning, before I was even out of bed, Luke presented me with my birthday gift. He was VERY excited to give it to me. It was a cardboard box taped up and inside included the following:
1) a toy from some happy meal
2) a bag of chip clips and rubber bands
3) the baseball he got from the River Dogs game in SC (but told me he would need this one back)
4) Four animal books: Apes, Frogs, Cheetahs, and Sharks.
5) a bag of hot wheels
6) a coffee filter colored and decorated (this served as the card - I think)
7) a snow leopard stuffed animal
8) a bag of pens and markers (taped on the outside of the box)
It was quite a gift. Thank you Luke. Mommy loves it!

My Dream....Wish....
Today Paige said to me:
"Mom I had a dream last night. Do you want to hear it? I dreamed I was at school and I wanted to come out to the car when you got there because my new little sister was in the car and I was excited to see her. Isn't that a good dream. Actually....it wasn't a dream. It is more of a wish"
She is too cute and too excited for her little sister to arrive. She keeps telling me how she will pick out her outfits everyday. Knowing Paige, I'm sure she will take this job very seriously. If it is anything like the process of picking out her own outfits, she will turn it into a full-time job.

Henry
Luke has a new little friend at school named Henry. Henry is not new to school, in fact he and Luke were in the same class last year. No mention of Henry last year but this year he is all we hear about.
Luke is doing tennis after school on Tuesday with the rest of his carpool. He did a couple sessions last year and loved it. When I asked him today how tennis went he said, "I don't like tennis because then I can't stand in car line with Henry and chit chat! The other days Henry doesn't go in car line and this is the day I can stand in car line with Henry." I then pointed out that he sits next to Henry during lunch AND what about recess??? Luke's response, "lunch is not so long and at recess we are busy playing games. There is not enough time to talk to Henry during the day."
Couple key points: 1) Yes, our son used the phrase "chit chat" which I found mildly amusing. 2) I clearly need to speak with the school about the fact that the kids are being kept busy during the school day and don't have enough time to sit around and "chit chat" :)
I was talking to Henry's mom at parent/teacher night. Poor thing, after we acknowledged that our kids were mutually obsessed with each other, she said, "please tell me you aren't moving away? Henry came home and said that Luke said he is moving after Christmas." Apparently there has been a couple other friends of Henry's that have moved away. Lots of movement at St. Phil's in the last couple years. I hope Luke finds another Henry at his new school...something tells me he won't have a problem!

Paige's First Day of School -
FINALLY, after watching Luke go off to school everyday, it was Paige's turn. She started school this week and was VERY excited. She is still at Children's Circle Nursery School until we move. She goes M,W,F 9-3 this year and is very excited about having lunch at school! This is her third year there so she knows the drill very well. Some of her friends moved on but there is a group of the girls in her class from years past and of course her teachers, Ms.Scarlette and Ms. Jen are still there.
Ready to go -

Storyland 2013
This weekend marked our 6th trip to Storyland with the five families. Again a great weekend. The kids LOVE seeing all their friends and most of all staying in the "big mansion" for the weekend. The weather was once again great and it wasn't crowded, it is the perfect time to go!

"I can hold the baby!"
This is what Luke told me today:
"Mommy, I am going to be REALLY good at holding the baby. I can hold the baby and walk around but Paige is going to have to sit when she holds the baby. Do you know why I'm going to be so good at it? Because I can walk, sometimes run, with glass and I don't break it. I am very good at holding things that are fragile"

The Temporary House
We made it to Round Hill - or what the kids call this place "the temporary house" although Paige informed me this week that we should probably just call it the house since we are now living here.
The kids love it. They think this is all one big adventure. Luke was set on unpacking and organizing his room as soon as we got in. He even put away all his clothes in drawers and set up all his toys. Luke is thrilled with the huge space out back to run around and catch frogs which he has been doing basically every day after he gets home from school. He also leaves carrots for the bunnies and loves checking in the morning to make sure they took his treats.
There is a pond nearby, private beach, heated pool we can use for a couple more weeks, tennis, golf and a golf cart which the kids think is the best. We are also enjoying the quiet roads where the kids can ride their bikes free from cars.
Here are some pics of our view out the back deck. Beautiful!

And then there were five...
At the beach, Paige was collecting shells. She found one for each person in the family. Then she came back over with a tiny one and said. "this one is the baby!"
